Rules of the game:
1. We will have eight (8) rounds of questions
2. Ten (10) questions per round
3. Assign your team’s table secretary – someone with decent handwriting; all your answers will be recorded by the table secretary / turned in for scoring
4. Max point total = 80 pts
5. Tie breaker = Lightening Round
6. Sixty-seconds to answer each question
7. Run answer sheet to tabulator tables
8. Mulligans = $5.00/each: a ‘free’ answer sticker on each round – it’s worth it; make sure your team (table) buys the max (8) to cover one question in each round
9. Raffles, raffles, raffles!!! Great prizes….from UW Athletic gear to golf outings and gift certificates…. $2/ea or 6/$10
10. Door prizes all ‘knight’ long (just for being there!)
11. 1st place / GRAND PRIZE: $500 cash
12. 2nd place: $250 cash
13. LAST PLACE: honor of wearing the DUNCE CAPS, and free admission to next year’s game! (see the photo at the top of the page? Yeah, that could be you….)
14. The emcee will read each question twice. The question will also be projected onto screens in the gym.
15. The use of cell phones, Blackberries, PDAs, iPhones, iPads, etc. is strictly FORBIDDEN. If you are caught using an electronic device during the game you will be asked to leave, and you will forfeit your entry fee.
16. MORE ON MULLIGANS: The mulligans are stickers; peel off the sticker and apply it to the question you’d like to use it for on the answer sheet. NOTE: Answering all the questions on your round and sticking the mulligan at the bottom of the sheet will not count; you must affix the mulligan to the answer sheet with a note as to which answer it is replacing.
17. The questions for Trivia Knight 2011 come from many hours of computer research, the review of countless trivial pursuit cards and the plagerization of other trivia night events across the country. The decision of the Trivia Knight committee is final.
18. We ask you to keep your noise levels low as a courtesy to your fellow competitors during the game.
19. Please respect the volunteers and the emcees – we are all donating our time for the good of our school!
